Merlin high 'C' Walnut with Turquoise

Our Merlin Flute in the musical key of high 'C' minor (440 Hz) is handcrafted from a single piece of domestic Walnut wood. The density of hardwood creates a crisp musical sound quality with clear and defined high notes across the scale.

High-tone flutes are a great instrument for playing with other instruments, like in drum circles. Their higher pitch sound let's them stands out amongst many other instruments. 

This flute is tuned to the key of 'C' minor but it can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale, in the key of 'E'. It's length is 16-inches / 40 cm. The Merlin 'C' is the highest octave flute that we make in the key of 'C' minor.

For 35-years we've been making flutes from single pieces of Walnut and we are adept at choosing planks that can be transformed into flutes with incredible sound quality. This is a six hole flute, which comes with a leather hole cover that can be used to close the third hole from the top (as seen in the picture) to make learning to play very easy. The hole cover can easily be removed.
